Kevin, Trustee for Settlor Spencer Tattam

Kevin, your role as a Trustee

What are your responsibilities?

Kevin, my name is Robin, and I am a legal adviser at CTT Group.  I have some important information for you.

You have been appointed as a trustee, for the trusts of Spencer Tattam.

He has chosen to use trusts to ensure that the trust assets get to his chosen beneficiaries, and nobody else. Spencer has chosen you, as one of his trustees, so you can make sure that this happens.

Protecting these assets is important to him, and hence why he has chosen to use a trust, and you along with his other trustees have a role to play in this.

The trusts that he has created can help ringfence the trust assets from many circumstances, such as these:

1, Remarriage or divorce of a beneficiary

2, Debt problems

3, Addictions

4, Care fees

5, Inheritance Tax

Spencer's trust assets will be safely under the control of you and your co-trustees. As trustees, you collectively have the power to do what you believe is right at the time for the beneficiaries.

The trustees have a responsibility to manage the trust on behalf of the beneficiaries, and also have reporting responsibilities for the registration and taxation of the trust.

Spencer has made sure that his wishes are laid out in the document titled Memorandum of Wishes. It is his wish that this document and its contents are taken into account when decisions are to be made.

Should you need any further guidance, either now or in the future, please contact Jonathan Maskew at CTT Group, his trust adviser.
